Hopes I Cherish

Hopes I cherish
Over the bosom of every Nepali
Let the snowy mountain dance,
In the lips of every countrymen
Let breathtaking rhododendrons smile.
Let every Nepali cherish
A dream of colorful rainbow,
Let every man of my native land
String beads of pearls
Of perspiration always.

Of travels and endless journeys
Let every Nepali sing
Tuneful songs galore;
May the foreheads of all
Be strewn with blessings sacred;
And every countenance brightened
With grace divine;

From every palm of my brethren
Let fragrance of work sublime emanate.
Let resplendent success kiss
Weary feet of every Nepali,
Let the lady goddess of fortune
Smile at very face;
Every step they put forward
Let stars brighten their way.
Let sun and moon forever hover
And ‘Parijat’ blossom
In their courtyard all over.

Let the saga of Amar Singh
To every Nepali provide
A shot in the arm always.
In their veins flow
the mighty blood of Balbhadra.
Let ‘Bhrikuti’ embellish
The eyelash of every Nepali,
And their hearts set ablaze
By stories impassioned
Of great Pasang Lahmu.

Let Himalayas glisten always
And add hallow to my country dear,
And lay down their life precious
To the land they belong.
Let the river of their devotion and dedication
Glide gently on earth's bosom
And create the canopy of heavens
Illuminated brilliantly with diadems
Of patriotic fervour.

Let their wounds be worth embracing
and tears worthy of worship;
Let their tears of labour
Sparkle as dewdrops and songs
Of labour and creativity resound
Over and beyond the horizons.

WHO AM I

Who Am I

Vanquished may be
Defeat I acknowledge never
Nor do I readily compromise;
My inner soul invincible always

Victory I celebrate in discomfiture
Illustrious instance I am
Of resolution, courage and valor
Dare to take plunge and rejoice
In rolling, roaring waves,

Lord Shiva I am to swallow
A brimming bowl of venom
I belong to that ancestry of blazing sun
The burning ball of fire.

Stern antagonist I am
Of rule despotic and power absolute,
Zealous worshipper I am
Of humanity that disapproves
Grossly of serfdom inhuman
Cognizant I am of finer values
Of liberty, unity and diversity,
Of civilization, amity and tranquility.

Unfailing and imperishable I am
Impossible to split asunder,
Munitions and arms incapable
To wreck and decimate me,
Relentless fighter I am,
For greater freedom and liberty;

Who can but I dare to die
In holy sacrificial altar
To free dear motherland of mine
From savage, cruel shackles
Of brutal slavery.

Vanquished may be
Defeat I surrender never
Nor do I readily compromise,
My inner soul invincible always
Victory I celebrate in discomfiture.

The Future Helmsmen Of Our Country

From untiring rivers and rivulets
That flow ceaselessly onwards,
Learn the mighty lesson of life
That moves ahead constantly
Despite overwhelming setbacks.

From upright hills above
That exhaust never,
Learn lesson of watching
With unyielding patience
and unflagging determination.

From snow-capped ridges
Which never cease to melt,
Learn the lesson inexhaustible
Abundance that hides behind
Unspeakable benevolence
Of consciousness deep within.

From abysmal recesses
Of cooing pine trees,
Imbue the sweetness that lies
embedded in mass
Of persistence and strife.

Smitten with buffets of snow-flakes
and biting frost in winter,
And shorn of their beauty,
Learn from the cheerless trees
Enlivened and rejuvenated
With lively fresh shoots in spring.

Flower garden never an object
Merely of delight and amusement,
Serves often a cause
For misery and woe.
Of tenderness and compassion
Rose  a symbol powerful
Is also a plant with prickles.

From the garden of
Flowers presenting radiating smiles
Here, there and everywhere
Learn the ephemelarity of life
ever and ever my dear.
The mission of life overlook never
Is not amassing material wealth,
But for our unbound soul
Is reaching for the sky
For unfettered freedom.

Learn from the chirruping birds
Of golden cage,
Casting their victuals offered
On a silver platter away
To spread your wings wide
In the expansive sky
Of unshackled freedom.

The azure sky that  causes
Generosity descend in drops
Is also an emblem of anger;
Clouds symbol of comeliness
Are Often armed in revolt;
From the patches of clouds
Hovering in th sky wide
As fleecy pieces of cotton
Learn to roar and descend
In torrents,

Against all injustice.
Mother earth a living symbol
Of love and tolerance
Even nurtures a raging volcano
In its womb;
When treated with disdain
Or when boundary crossed
of humaneness,
Learn to erupt and display
An outburst of retribution.

My Darling Dad

Lively undying turf you are
Of my life's garden of flowers
An embodiment of dogged determination
Invincible courage and persistency
Uprooted even and  flung anywhere
you resurrect with equal vibrancy
With roots and boughs intact and alive
Tender shoots of cultural eminence
Untiring patience and endurance
Living landmark you are standing aloft
Of sweet elevating blessings anew
Worthy decoration of life's long quest.
Lotus of magnetic comeliness
Aroma of amazing exuberance
You are a bloom elegant
A smile so eloquent
Rarity of earth unparallel
You are a gem, a lone fighter
Much alike a lotus in a muddy water
Omnipresent and powerful
Source of infinite light and life
Incinerated in cauldron High up in the sky
You  guide people from down under
From darkness to light.
Adored as a martyr
For ever and ever
You are an eternal source of inspiration
Of high ideals and renunciation.
Sacrificed everything you have
Braving bullets and bayonets
Enthused and enlivened many
Celestial evergreen and immortal
You are constant and unruffled
An undivided whole
Embedded deeply in reverence and trust
transformed  you as a great soul
Emerged out from sentient creatures.
Everlasting and indestructible
The highest being you are
Unshaken and undivided
Securely settled on foundation firm
Of granite's trust and reliance
You are the creation par excellence
From  sublime sentient souls.

Nepal ! I love You

Nepal ! I Love You

Twinkling in the wide firmament
Countless stars and the moon,
All of them I know
They belong to me.
Whatever I do and wherever I go
My country I love you
Forever.

Along with the sun at dawn
Nepal awakes,
Along with the moon at dusk
Nepal gleams.
Water even of the strange country
Tastes so sweet as Himalaya
And even the hours of twilight
Feels exhilarating exact
As of Nepal.

The heavens of my heart
Is replete with love
For my country,
To my dwelling place above
My country casts
Its comforting shadows.
On peaceful serene nights
I muse upon Nepal's
day to day events,
Hark! the call of the motherland

At every spasmodic hiccup;
With heart immensely filled
With patriotic fervor
I trot ever the globe
Walk miles and miles
As keen ballad singer.
Climb the steep alien hills
and stare at beaming Annapurna
And sniff jasmine
In cool fragrant breeze.

In the hills and dales
Of my heart within,
Blossom the exotic orchid,
In the placid Fewa Tal of my eyes.

The grandeur of Macha Puchhre dawns.
From the mural paintings Of the walls
we watch Lord Swayambhu's eyes
The floodgate open
the continuous flow
Of divine utterances loud.

Visions of Nepal I relish
In my dream always,
It edges along the brink
of my eyes forever.
The passionate outburst
of emotions I empty my bosom
The love for my country dear.
Nepal rolls down the edges of my eyes
Not tears for sure,
It is not heart that pulsates
But Nepal deep inside my chest.

Every moment a thousand times
Nepal reverberates,
With overflowing fullness
Of thoughts it imbues.
With the crowing of the cock
I awake and watch
In the valleys beyond
the pheasants fluttering its wings.
Keen to arrest glow-worms
In the hollow of my palm,
Love to pick innumerable stars
And the moon to embellish
the inner apartment of my heart.

Enjoying the cool under
umbrageous bunyan-pipal tree,
I dream of the luxuriant cluster
Of apples on forested mountains.
Expansive as the azure sky
Mind pure as unblemished earth
Nothing as exalted compared as
earth in repletion.
Diamonds and pearls,
Gold and riches,
Is our land divine.
